EvasBookStore ~ I Became An Author

When I became an Author, for me becoming an author came by accident. Stories that were inside of me that had to get out.

My first audiobook came to me when California had a chance to vote to label their food. It still astonishes me that the corrupt GMO people duped the California’s into thinking it was wrong to know what we are eating. “How dare they brain wash people like that,” I thought. What would happen to people in the future if we don’t get the word out about what these companies were doing to us. That’s where the idea was born for my first book Modified 2009.

My second audiobook is called So You think You Want To Be A Hairstylist. This idea came to me suddenly. I did a lot of research on this book because I wanted to give the reader the benefits of my knowledge plus,  help them choose a career, and possibly save them $20,000 and a lifetime of regret being in a career they were not meant to be in. Or help them KNOW that this career is the one they should be in. In any case, It’s better to know than not know.

My third audiobook I wrote is called The Eleventh Arrow. This audiobook was an important biography of a family escaping Russian communism in the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. Based upon a true story, from the stories my mother told me as I was growing up.  Yes, the little child in this story is me. I wanted to give my readers a sense of being there as it happened, so I wrote in present tense. You can feel the emotion of history happening as it is read to you page by page the story unfolds.

What I didn’t know until I wrote all three books is, this is not what an author is supposed to do. An author is supposed to write in one genre. Be it a love story or a horror story, it doesn’t matter. What matters is, that your readers will look for your name in the same genre. Ooops. I blew it. I wrote what I thought was important rather than keeping it the same. Which gives an author like me more to do to get people to find my audiobooks. I am finding it is possible to do it my way. I sometimes like to break the rules and make up my own. And for other authors who are following my path, maybe this blog will help you also.  I have way more to tell you.
